The Greek Sunday Sportscar Experience
As Greeks, those of us who live here very often forget how lucky we are to live in one of the best - (maybe the best) - Mediterranean countries in the world. We just complain about the heat when it is hot. And in winter, we miss it and nag that it's too cold.
Until the sun comes out on the weekend.
The colors, the smells, the fresh air, the perfect amount of humidity, the sun, and the views. All are so often perfect for most of the year. And even though sometimes the weather forecast is off, a good day like this one could be planned on the spot (forgot to bring a camera though - sorry for the potato photos).
The only thing missing is quality asphalt and fixed roads, something which on most backroads and rural routes isn't as much of a problem as we complain about, and it is definitely not an issue when considering the way the roads are formed around the landscape.
Greece is the perfect place to enjoy your sports car, whether you're with your partner, your kids, or some friends and their cars. (Yes, yes, or "all of the above".).
A convertible is a must if you ask me, though I know some of you don't like convertible cars, or don't think the experience is worth it due to the looks, but let's get back to the point.
When Athens and its outskirts are such a fun playground to take a drive on a sunny Sunday, be grateful for the even better routes we have throughout the entire country, and how much better they are with good people and good weather.
Cheers to some great drives, coming soon.
