John Wick's Night Rider

The 992.1 GT3 Touring is a bit confusing.. But I think I understand it. Let me explain:

A Naturally-Aspirated Flat-6 never looked so cool.

9,000 RPM never looked so slick, and 503HP never felt so perfect.

If John Wick got a "Batmobile", this would be it.

Just like John Wick, the Touring is subtle, quick, precise, and raw. It is muscular, but not buff, and without the turbos or flashy colors, it is a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing. And because it is a Porsche, it has its unique character and "way of doing things", despite the (very complicated) relationship with VW Audi Group, and despite having less power than an electric Kia. As of today, there are only 20 cars in the world that you can buy with a license plate, which broke a time under 7 minutes at the nürburgring, such as the 992 GT3 @ 06:55.34 - AND - it did so with only 350HP/Ton. All other cars other than the GT3 RS variants, have between 410-719HP/Ton. The GT3/GT3 Touring really is amazing.

BUT...

The previous GT3 Touring, the 991, known for being the more comfortable GT3 was indeed a softer, "tourer-er" version. But with the 992... not really. This new Touring is actually, literally just a wingless GT3. Like a ninja without his outfit. He can still do the job, but it isn't as obvious. No matter how well you try to convince yourself of the the 0.5% "difference" in the suspension tuning (or whatever it is, if the difference even exists), or the whatever percentage difference in aerodynamics and drag coefficient, they are the same car, and feel the same according to all who have driven both models back-to-back since the debut in April 2021. I know, my language about ninjas, and "whatever, whatever" does not reflect the "Porsche-ness" of Porsche's exactness and precision, but neither does their way of separating the two "different" models. It seems more like a marketing term with this generation. And it's kind of true.

Visiting the Porsche Newsroom, for the 992 Touring, and regular GT3 model, you can even put the official Technical Information PDF's side by side and see an exact copy-paste of all information, other than the 0.01Cd LOSS in aerodynamics with the Touring thanks to necessary underbelly alterations.

So... buying the GT3 with or without a spoiler is more of a design choice above all, something that is reflected in the difference in demand between the two models. Both models come with a manual gearbox option too, so they still remain the same by that aspect as well.

But despite the higher desirability for the Touring, it is the more available model "somehow". Porsche know what they are doing. They know that a stealthy, accurate weapon is the weapon of choice for the discrete man. They know that John Wick is cool because of how much he does not talk or show off, and by how much ass he can kick.

The 992 Touring, therefore, has the capabilities and looks. Especially this one.
